Brown Sugar Shortbread

I’m not sure I’m going to get a chance to make batches and batches of cookies this year.  With work being slow, funds being tight, and an upcoming trip to New Orleans, I can’t convince myself to spend buckets on baking goods. 

But, with these cookies being only 3 ingredients, I couldn’t help but dive into baking them today.  There were a couple of variations for these cookies, but I used this recipe.  I made some modifications to enhance the flavor, and for my creative needs.  I added some orange zest to the batter, and topped mine with nutmeg and chopped rosemary.  The orange zest just adds a little bit to the batter, and the rosemary balances out all the sweetness and gives it a hint of Christmas. 

I can’t wait to bundle some of these up to take to my favorite people!
