After watching Sunday’s Grammy Awards, I realized a strange fact about myself…I couldn’t ever remember watching a Barbara Streisand movie. So, I decided to go for the gold right away and watch Funny Girl on Netflix.
I couldn’t believe how stunning Streisand was in the role of Fanny Brice. Not only is she an absolutely amazing singer and actress, but she oozes both pure glamor and stunning boho-chic looks all at once. It made me remember that costumes in films used to be a spectacle. There used to be intricate details, wild color combinations, and amazing accessories. The only fashion spectacle (that isn’t a period piece at least) that comes close is Sex and the City, and let’s face it, Patricia Field has nothing on this.
